What Cell flashing means
The cell needs inspection; its blades may have calcium buildup. It isn't producing chlorine.
Also shown as: Cell green flashing, Inspect Cell, depending on the model.
Likely causes
- Calcium scale on the cell blades
Safe first checks
- Turn power off to the chlorinator and pump, remove the cell, and look for scale. Clean it exactly as your manual says, wearing gloves and eye protection.
When to stop
If cleaning doesn't clear it, the cell may be worn out.
Parts that may help
Only order a part once the checks above point to it, and match the part number to your model.
Checked against: Pentair IntelliChlor IC15/IC20/IC40/IC60 installation and user's guide. Codes can differ by model and year, so confirm with your owner's manual.
