What d90 means
Airflow is restricted somewhere between the dryer and the outside exhaust. The number is how blocked the vent is: d80 is 80%, d90 is 90%, d95 is 95%.

Likely causes
- Lint in the lint filter or vent
- Crushed, kinked or coiled exhaust hose
- Stuck outside vent flap
- Long vent run with many elbows
Safe first checks
- Clean the lint filter, and wash it with warm water and a soft brush if it looks clogged. Dry it before reinstalling.
- Unplug the dryer, pull it out and check the exhaust hose behind it for crushing, kinks, holes or coils.
- Go outside while the dryer runs on Air Dry and make sure the vent flap opens fully. Clear any lint around it.
When to stop
If the code continues, have a professional dryer vent cleaner clean the duct inside the walls. A blocked vent is a fire risk, so don't keep running the dryer with high blockage.
