What FAULT - CHECK IGN CONTROL means
An ignition problem: air pressure switch tubing, fan, blocked air, igniter, low gas supply or no flame at the burner.
Also shown as: CHECK IGN CONTROL, depending on the model.
Likely causes
- Gas valve closed or empty propane tank
- Blocked air intake
- Igniter fault
Safe first checks
- Make sure the gas supply valve is open and, for propane, the tank has fuel.
- Check from outside that nothing is blocking the heater's air openings.
When to stop
Ignition, fan and gas checks are for a qualified tech. If you smell gas, leave and call your gas supplier from outside.
